yearlings and weanlings
As I've promised, pictures of my new horse babies were downloaded from pictures taken by my O2 cellphone. Here they are:
The first (lower third) is a weanling filly by CHARDONNAY ( the mother at the background) from the stallion BULL MARKET. She was born April 4 so that makes her 4 months old.
The second one(bottom) is also a 4-month old weanlng colt from my mare at his back, that's VICTORY COLORS out of a union also with stallion BULL MARKET.
They don't have names yet and they will have to be 2 years old when they start running that means in year 2007.
In the meantime both broodmare-parents are also pregnant from another stallion named KEY APO. They's due to give birth also April next year.
I also have two yearlings that are ready to race next year 2005. I'm pretty excited about these two individuals because they really look great.
An exceptionally tall and big filly of VICTORY COLORS(top left) is a full sister to both FIVE OCLOCK and the second weanling earlier stated.
The next (second from top) is by STOLEN MOMENT out our new stallion AMERIGO. She looks alert and appears to be an intelligent horse. These two will be seen in the racetracks middle of next year 2006.
Well, it's been a year since I went to the farm and although a very short visit, it was quite relaxing and I felt very ecstatic about these new horse babies and how they are growing in the pasture.

unexpected events and ranch trip
It was a day of mixed confusion, both good and bad. I wanted to go to Batangas early this morning but at the gas station, my Ford Expedition would not start. The reason, the battery was dead. So i told my driver to buy one and had another car fetch me to pursue my trip.
I went with my new driver, my nephew in law and proceeded to Rockwell to buy a digital camera to shoot pictures and video of my newly born racehorses.
We were able to leave Makati, almost 1pm and proceeded on a two hour drive to Lipa city.
There at the Rancho Puyat farms, I saw a big chestnut filly aged 1 year 5 months which i think would be my best racehorse. Mariano, the farm manager ws saying this was easily more than one-million pesos if I decide to sell it.
She looked like her mom, VICTORY COLORS who also had a new foal born April who was a little bit swayback but very good looking colt.
STOLEN MOMENT's yearling by AMERIGO was also very nice although not as big as the aforementioned filly.
CHARDONNAY also produced another good looking filly from a mating with BULL MARKET.
I felt frustrated because my new camera did'nt work and there was so much serenity, nature's wonders in the farm. I wished I could show that all here. I had to use my cellphone camera which I think would not justify the nice feelings back there. However, I would upload them tomorrow for yu to see.
We left Lipa at 4:30 pm and arrived safely on home after three hours.
Ciao.

I thought they're not serious
I got a call this afternoon from Malacanang, reiterating a previous offer that I become one of the press advisers of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Of course, it is a great honor to serve our country in these distressing times.
But it's just two weeks since I have retired from ABS-CBN and mind you, enjoying every minute of my stress free life. I've got my own time and my racehorses are doing the financing for me.
We've bought ourselves a nice condominium unit at Manansala rockwell and everything seems to be rosy and peaceful.
The offer says I was the top choice of the President for the position and that I should accept it. Small salary but challenging with some perks maybe... I said I would study it. From the ABS-CBN snakepit into another at the Palace. Do i need this bang on my head? It's an easy job that I could really do. But do I need it?
Ciao..

kois and peace of mind
I am really amazed at these wonderful creatures called koi fish. They give me comfort every at all times just looking at how they swim with ease.
In the gazebo beside my little pond, , there is statue of our Blessed Virgn Mary who looks over me and my koi in our moments of solitude. Indeed very relaxing and very quiet and peaceful to the soul....
The cheerful chirping of my parakeets, the sound of the moving waters from the grotto's artificial falls and the aroma of sweet flowers makes me ecstatic and feeling very very serene.
These pictues were taken several months ago, now it is like a natural forest. I'll show it to you next time.

they did'nt win
Well, it was a not so good weekend. SIMPLY STRONG landed 6th, LOLITA placed third, IDON'T DANCE 6th and FIVE OCLOCK was also third... (Five oclock is with my daughter in the picture)
Not a bad week though because, I had one winner, two thirds and one 4th place....
This week, they will all rest and will run again when the races return in Sta.Ana on the 28th of this month.
Till then...
