Well, PRIDE AND JOY (Frisco View-Onager by Al Khawaneeg) showed her stuff by beating a mature field of imported runners at the Santa Ana Park also last Thursday. She was the crowd favorite and she did'nt disappoint.
She ran the 1500 meter distance in 19 24' 24 26'= 1:34 besting VIRGINIA, ARCTIC DESERT and other 4 year olds.. Remember that this horse is just 2 years going 3 yeards old in September...According to jockey Antonio Alcasid Jr., she was still a bit green in running and hopefully, she will improve in the next few weeks... In 6 starts, she won once, placed second once and , placed third also once...She's really earning her keep.
We'll change her training regimen and give her a longer distance capability..No question about her fighting heart, she will be a tough horse to beat when she campaigns on her third year...

Well, MR VICTORY only placed third in a very questionable performance by its regular jockey FM RAquel last Thursday at the Santa Ana Park.
At the far turn, the jockey was moving with loose reins and clearly the horse was not biting the bit in a "showmanship" that puzzled its trainer Doc Alcasid. Before the race, the opponent LUCKY JOE, whom MR VICTORY defeated handily in the MARHO Espinosa CUP, was in a nip and tuck contest as betting favorite... What was happening was that everybody knows that RAquel was going to lose the race... And true enough, he did.
The consoling thing is that he was caught on video doing it.And therefore, horseowners can now take action on this questionable move that clearly undermines the integrity of the industry...People are asking .. how can they get away with this blatant and arrogant action that caused the little mananayas to lose hard earned money?
We'll see. At least, now he will not be riding on our horses and maybe the whole MARHO group for that matter..
