Gail's BMW back at WHEELS for repairs

Well, I just got a call from BMW WHEELS , E Rodriguez ave., QC, saying that their computer showed that the ABS PUMP of Gail's car needs replacement. And that the new pump would cost 123,000 pesos. When I inquired about the 2nd hand replacement, they said it was 80 to 90T. I was disgusted knowing the fact that this BMW series 3161 model 2001 was just 26,000 in mileage, how could that ABS pump got abused? Unless of course, it was a factory defect that we have no capacity to know.. I've seen BMW's aged 20 year olds whose ABS pump never faltered. But here is my girl's car which I believe did not even get out of Metro Manila. Again, how could that pump got abused? Anyways, I cannot do anything on Wheels part except to seek a second opinion from another BMW expert. I was told that we could not use the car, because its brakes would lock anytime and it would be dangerous... I feel being hostaged... But let's take it one at a time.... Before I write a formal letter to the BMW leadership questioning this "factory defect", I had to seek another professeional opinion. In the meantime, I think it would be questionable for me to endorse for a friend or even buy another BMW brand.... Imagine a 26,000 mileage car that gets its ABS pump busted. A car that was never bumped or otherwise... A car whose route was school-home about half kilometer away in Rockwell...... and then on weekends about 10 kilometers to our QC domicile.. HOW COULD I TELL A FRIEND NOW TO CONSIDER BUYING OR ME GETTING ANOTHER BMW? Well, it was really disappointing .. but let's wait and see... for now..
