Thanks to BMW Philippines esp. Mr. Lito German

I would like to thank the management of BMW Philippines for taking action on the problem of Gail's 3161 car. As I wrote earlier, the said vehicle was diagnosed at WHEELS E. Rodriguez to have a defective AUTOBRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) pump, the mechanism that controls all the brakes . They were charging us 128,000 pesos for a replacement. A second hand pump , they said, would cost from 80-90 t pesos. I asked for a second opinion from a German who has an auto shop also in QC and he confirmed that indeed, our car needs a replacement but brand new ABS. This he said costs about 1,000 Euros or approximately 80,000 pesos including freight . He was flying to Germany before Christmas and promised to buy us one. However, he said the car which has a low mileage of 26,000 kms. should work for a warranty claim. In Germany, any defect below 30,000 km mileage are replaced by BMW. In 7-series cars, even at 100,000 km mileage, the ABS pumps are replaced. This prompted me to use my connections. I called up my colleague Ira Panganiban, my motoring show reporter back in ABSCBN, who in turn called up Lito German, PR of BMW Philippines. We talked and he said they will diagnose the car and see what they can do.. He told us to bring it to BMW Classic, which is near Sto.Domingo Church and talked to Allan Domingo the Manager. After the usual computer diagnostics, the problem was indeed the ABS pump that needs replacement. From then on, Lito German took over and yesterday afternoon, Allan Domingo called me and said the BMW is now ready for pick-up. THEY INSTALLED A NEW ABS PUMP AT NO COST TO US.Well, it was a big surprise to me and Mr. German called to confirm the release. I could not thank him enough. Salamat, my daughter could'nt believe it but it's true. BMW Philippines saved us from this 128,000 peso-expense. And I congratulate them for living up to the world class standard that is BMW. Now, I take back all my doubts and confirm to all and sundry that BMW is the best. Salamat po ulit, Lito German and BMW Philippines and thank you, Ira Panganiban. I owe you one..
